Farber (Sidney) is born in Buffalo.

One of 14 children, Sidney Farber graduates from the University of Buffalo, studies in Germany, and comes to Boston to attend Harvard Medical School. n 1928, he becomes the first pathologist at Children’s Hospital. Farber goes on to be called the “Father of Chemotherapy” and founds what becomes the Sidney Farber Cancer Institute at Children’s Hospital. He dies in his office on Binney Street on March 30, 1973.
